NCW Equity Alliance Welcomes First Executive Director, Oscar Licon-Eusebio

“Passion is really key in this area of work,” Oscar Licon-Eusebio said when discussing his new role as Executive Director at the NCW Equity Alliance.

“Working with people and making an impact in this space is what I’m most passionate about,” he continued.

Oscar comes from a diverse professional background with experience in technical support, community outreach, and recruitment. In 2019, he completed his post-secondary education at Central Washington University where he obtained both a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in information technology administration management.

Oscar shared that he has always taken a special interest in equity. While employed as a technical support assistant for the Wenatchee School District during the height of the pandemic, Oscar worked with many families who didn’t always have access to computers at home or adequate internet service as remote learning became the norm. This experience helped solidify his passion for equity as a special career interest. Having the opportunity to now focus on equity exclusively, is something Oscar revealed he is most looking forward to with his new position.

Stemming from a workgroup at Our Valley Our Future, the NCW Equity Alliance was founded in 2021 with the goal of assisting others in their journey toward inclusion. Over the last year and a half, the organization has been providing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) training and consulting services across the region.

Oscar shared that he and the board of directors have big plans for the future of the NCW Equity Alliance and relayed his excitement about joining the organization in its formative years as. “My vision is for us to be a hub for all things equity,” Oscar explained. “Whether someone is looking for training opportunities, answers to questions, or just doesn’t know where to start, I want us to be a trusted resource in the community,” he said.

Looking forward, the NCW Equity Alliance currently has five training opportunities earmarked for 2023 that will cover a variety of topics and will be available to both nonprofit and for-profit organizations in the region.
